Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire MS, Samuel Kurtz, has urged residents to “keep shopping locally” following last week’s successful Small Business Saturday campaign.
The event took place on Saturday 4th December, Mr Kurtz marked the event by visiting local businesses in Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.
Kurtz visited a number of local businesses in Carmarthen town, including Taylors, Blasus Delicatessen, Green Elephant plant shop and Hugh Evans’ Butchers.
Speaking in a local café in Carmarthen, Samuel said:
“Small Business Saturday is a great campaign and visiting some of Carmarthen town’s independent shops showcased the number of high quality traders we have in West Wales.
“Whilst this year has been incredibly tough for our local businesses, it was really encouraging to see so many residents turning out to support our high-streets, especially in the run-up to Christmas.
“As we continue to bounce back from the pandemic, it’s more important than ever that we show our small businesses some love. They’re an integral part of our local communities and need our support, not just in December, but all year round.”
