Last week, neighbouring Senedd Members Samuel Kurtz and Paul Davies took part in BT’s Big Sofa Summit – a nationwide conversation about how individuals and their homes can become more environmentally friendly.
Speaking about the event, Senedd Member for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire, Samuel Kurtz said:
“It was great to meet with Team BT to talk all-things climate change and learn about the small steps we can all take, to do our bit to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
“As BT has rightly highlighted, you don’t need to be a world leader to do your bit for the environment. In fact, everyone can make a difference from the comfort of their own home.
“There’s a whole range of small actions that we can do at home to do our part. For example, turning down your thermostat by just 1 degree will reduce your energy use and bills straight away – and you probably won’t feel the difference.”
Senedd Member for Preseli Pembrokeshire, Paul Davies said:
“The BT Big Sofa Summit was a great opportunity to learn more about how we can make our homes greener and save money and energy.
“There are plenty of things we can do – for example by replacing the light bulbs in our homes with LED lights, we could reduce our carbon dioxide emissions by up to 40kg a year.
“Small actions like this can have a big impact and so I’d encourage everyone to take a moment to find out about how you can make your homes more energy efficient and help the environment.”
