Following the launch of the Welsh Parliament’s Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs (ETRA) Committee’s priorities for the sixth Senedd consultation, Samuel Kurtz MS has called for local residents to submit their views and concerns, ahead of its publication in the Autumn.
Samuel Kurtz, Local Member of the Senedd for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire and member of the ETRA Committee said: “This is a really important opportunity that gives Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire residents the opportunity to propose the Committee’s objectives and priorities for the sixth Senedd term.”
“The purpose of ETRA Committee is to hold the Welsh Government to account by scrutinising it on a whole range of policy areas, encompassing economic development, regeneration, skills, trade, research and development and rural affairs”
Speaking on the Committee’s importance, Samuel said: “One of the benefits of sitting on the Committee is that its remit is wide and delves into a number of different policy areas. And so, if you have any views on issues that could lend themselves to joint working or collaboration, then we want to hear them.”
He finished: “You have until the 1st of September 2021 to submit your response and details on how to do so can be found by visiting the Senedd website. This is a fantastic opportunity and by submitting your views and concerns, we can ensure the Welsh Government is being held to account.”
The Committee has already confirmed it will be scrutinising the Welsh Government’s Nitrate Vulnerable Zone (NVZ) policy, following defeat for the Government by the opposition earlier this year.
