Local MS Samuel Kurtz recently visited Dogs4Wildlife, a Carmarthenshire based charity which specialises in training and developing anti-poaching canine units to protect endangered wildlife in nature reserves across Africa.
The organisation, which is based in St Clears, also specialises in inspiring and motivating the next generation of wildlife protectors, through the means of effective and determined education.
Speaking about the visit, Senedd Member for Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire Samuel Kurtz MS, said:
“Dogs4Wildlife is one of those fantastic charities whose work often goes under the radar locally – but internationally, they’re part of the fightback against illegal poachers across huge swathes of conservation sites in Africa.
“The work they do is truly outstanding; whether it be training top-class canine units to assist in anti-poaching operations or working alongside communities to raise awareness about the importance of conservation.
“I was blown away by their commitment to fighting back against those who wish to damage the beautiful, endangered sights found on the African savannas.”
